A Look Into 2010's Unforgettable BET Hip Hop Awards Show

The BET awards show is always such a fun thing to watch especially when the artists who deserve to win, actually win! This year's show was hosted by actor and stand up comedian, Mike Epps. The show included performances and appearances by Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Diddy, Kelly Rowland, Soulja Boy, Salt N Pepa, Trina, Gucci Mane, Swizz Beatz, Waka Flocka Flame, B.o.B, Cali Swag District, Keri Hilson, J. Cole.
While there were many big names at the BET Awards, "rookie" Nicki Minaj and "veteran" Jay-Z dominated the show by taking home three awards a piece. Minaj took home the Rookie of the Year Award, the Made-You-Look Award and last but not least, the People's Champ Award. Jay-Z took home the Best Hip Hop Video Award and Perfect Combo Award for "Empire State of Mind ft. Alicia Keys," and lastly took home the award for Best Live Performer.
Jay-Z took home three awards after being in the game 15 years but Minaj, a rookie whose album, "Pink Friday" is set to be released Nov. 23, 2010, took home the same amount of awards. "You can be the King but watch the Queen conquer," certainly has a new meaning huh? It's almost as if she knew!
Some of the highlights from this year's show included performances by Rick Ross and Diddy performing the hit single "BMF" alongside rap veteran MC Hammer performing his hit classic "Too Legit to Quit." Soulja Boy, caught the audience's attention, as he so often does, performed his summer hit, "Pretty Boy Swag." Gucci Mane and Swizz Beatz then gave an unforgettable performance of the hit "It's Gucci Time." But the biggest surprise of the show was from the Harlem rap group Dipset reuniting on stage to perform their comeback single "Salute."
